WELCOME TO THE BOOB SCHOOL!
We don't know our bodies as well as we should, especially our breasts. We are making boob-checking a thing. So take a couple of minutes and let’s do this together, step by step.
STEP 1
Get the timing right.
Remember to examine your breasts once a month after the end of your period, when you are least tender or swollen. No period? Do it on the first day of the month.
STEP 2
Get the right grip.
Flatten the breast by stretching your arm behind your head. You can do this while lying, bending forward, or showering. Feel the area from your armpit to your collarbone
to the bottom of your ribs. This is where lymph nodes are and sometimes these areas swell when cancer is present.
STEP 3
Get your move on.
Using light, medium, and deep pressure cover the entire area of your breast, chest, and armpit using a circle, horizontal, or up and down patterns.
STEP 4
Your boobs will thank you later.
Your exam is now complete. Something feels off? Don't hesitate to contact your medical practitioner.
